The absence of concrete form both allows the flow of creative energy and leaves the door open for you to engage with the work on a personal level.

My painting defies casual interpretation.  With no immediate defined image or scene, I paint intuitively, responding to color and texture.  I start with strong fluid gestures, then apply paint with brushes, pouring and scraping and experimenting with other tools around my studio - the art and the paint combinations direct the painting.

I have often heard writers say that the characters take over and that they (the writers) are often surprised at a behavior or twist.  For me, it is the same with painting.  As I work on a painting, I get deeper into the flow zone and feel very much when a painting has come to a conclusion.

My artistic vision is to create works of art that draw people in, that offer them opportunities for personal interpretations and ultimately bring them pleasure.

Biography

Pamela Rosenfeld is an abstract American artist based in Basalt, CO. Working primarily in acrylics, her art is guided purely by abstraction expressionism. The absence of concrete form both allows the flow of creative enegry and leaves the door open for the viewer to engage with the work on a personal level.

After having a successful career as an interior designer, Rosenfeld began exploring her long head desire to create on a different level and began painting and working in collage in 2024. She quickly transitioned into painting full time.

Her journey has included workshops at Anderson Ranch, participating in the NYC Crit Club (short form), hosting a pop-up gallery, Blink, in the summer of 2024 with 2 other artists and creating pieces for inclusion in an annual fund raiser for an arts community.
